چکیده
Abstract Rail monitoring is an important activity which aims to preserve the safety and availability of railways. According statistics, primary cause railway accidents due transverse defects that occur in rail head. These special develop generally a plane orthogonal running direction. The detection these priority increase transportation. control techniques mostly rely on infrared thermography, eddy currents, air-coupled acoustic sensors, ultrasounds. present research studies diagnosis by means non-contact device. focus ultrasonic based methods where excitation generated thermal elastic coupling following laser irradiation For reception echoes, ultrasound sensor was used. In order sense defects, phased array elements, use multiple transducers electronic time delays, are used focalise signal intensity. Flaws have moderate extension better detected proposed method than with consisting single spot.

Groundwork for Rail Flaw Detection Using Ultrasonic Phased Array Inspection
An apparent increase in the detectability of certain flaws results when the ultrasonic inspection beam was oriented off the longitudinal axis of railroad rail. Here, artificial reflectors were used to better define the extent of material "seen" by inspection beams, and determine how surface curvature might affect the inspection. Presumably, such information could be useful for suggesting optimu...
متن کاملA Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Technique for the Inspection of Nozzle Welds in the Nuclear Industry
Regular, in-service inspection is important to verify the integrity of welded nozzle sections in the nuclear industry. Nozzle sections are susceptible to crack growth due to thermal fatigue and stress corrosion. Early detection of cracks is therefore essential to ensure the continued safe operation of the facility. The aim of this project is to design an inspection system that is capable of red...
متن کاملUltrasonic phased array inspection of electrofusion joints in polyethylene pipes
The use of plastic as a pipe material for the transport of gas and water has increased over the last few years, attributed to the significant advantages of this material such as corrosion resistance, strengthto-weight ratio, lightness, flexibility and cost. Consequently, these pipes have a long predicted service life. One of the pipes’ joining processes is electrofusion welding. As for all kind...
متن کاملPhased array ultrasonic imaging using an improved beamforming based total focusing method for non destructive test
One of the novel ultrasonic phased array based scanning methods for ultrasonic imaging in non-destructive test is total focusing method (TFM). This method employs maximum available information of the phased array elements and leads to an improved defect detection accuracy compared to conventional scanning methods. Despite its high detection accuracy, TFM behaves weak in distinguishing the real ...
متن کاملOptimization of phased-array transducers for ultrasonic inspection in composite materials using sliding probes
The increasing use in the industries of composite materials implies finding a suitable way for testing and evaluating them. Non-destructive testing by ultrasounds is an appropriate method to detect defects in this type of materials, however, because of their structure it is required to find the most applicable and accurate process for detecting flaws and anomalies in them. For conventional ultr...
